Haha. Ive just been to the scrap yard and could only find really heavy stuff, I'd guess 2-3mm wall. So I left it, thinking it would be to hard to bend.

2 or 3mm wall will bend perfect in Stus bender

Anything thin will wrinkle or kink can get slightly better results by compacting sand in the tube and bending it. However sand and intake don't mix!

thicker wall will bend better tho.

Go get some tube from the scrappy!!!

Might be going back there then. Spent ages there today rummaging through a skip full of aircraft parts. Very cool

It's not a car scrap yard, sorry. Just general metal. They hold a lot of stock steel and tons of assorted metals that they have hoarded over the years. I can't go there without spending hours rummaging

Ahhh, scrappy porn :smokin:

There used ro be (probably still is) a good scrappy like that in Hunslet, Leeds, where me and my brother used to go hunting for stuff, So long as you kept out of the way of the plant machinery they let you wander around looking for owt you wanted.

Sounds similar. Got some alu sheet for new footwell, alu box section to reinforce it, a bit of ss tube and a cool looking bit of titanium off an airplane for a tenner. Can't get that down Tesco

Are there any disco 300tdi specialists out there know what this bit does?
