Fooking telly, good wine though Joules. I am sure there is more shots of the landy on the trailer for the show than actually in the show.

Towed next door but ones dead KA to the local garage this morning giving the landy a run out. Fitted a wheel spat only 2 more to go!!

Rewired the Anglian LRC JTV tractor it now has a working kill switch and a secured battery. A few more little jobs to do before it's ready for the youngsters to play off-road.

Then took the landy out for a trundle and drove a couple of lanes

Nice to see killajoules' 80 on the telly!!

A day out out in the landy was long overdue!

Bretts funeral will be held at Luton Crem 2.30pm 8th May. If anyone wishes to attend drinks afterwards at Putteridgebury please contact me directly as I need to let Carol know. I believe Carol is setting up a page to donate but when I have details I will pass on.

I don't recognise that place... which lane is that mate?

It's just up the A5 it has cameras up all over the place ok for us sensible lot but plenty of idiots supposedly been prosecuted I actually drove past the other lane centre parks Doh!

A very strange request. Has anyone got scrap axles off a Range Rover Classic or a Disco 1? I need a half shaft bolt.

Half shaft bolt??

I
Might have a bolt you men drive member bolt imperial or metric?? I will have one or 10 but if it's just a bolt you can have it !

Not one lane has opened following the winter closures in bedfordshire. Apparently the ground is to wet. Forty foot is shut for another year. It gets worse every year. The ground is dry. What a farce.

Very sorry to hear that you feel that Farrar BUT I feel I should broadcast the following message from LARA and the ALRC published in the recent LRSOC newsletter and I hope all other ALRC newsletters

"LARA strongly recommends that all 'Green Lane' enthusiasts respect the fact that we are experiencing abnormally wet weather and refrain from driving on unmettalled roads until they have had a chance to thouroughly dry out. Continued use at this time is not sustainable and could easilly bring a swift legislative end to our recreation."

I know that for some this is the raison detre of this thread, BUT I have seen too many lanes closed over the last thirty years partially due to the gung ho "Lets Offroad!"ers mob who loved churning up muddy lanes.

While I agree many lanes "Look" OK, possibly ARE OK, nut the groud water levels are still high. Just look at the head of the Gade, usually it visibly starts just outside Water End, well water is still flowing a further mile up the valley!!

Just because the surface may look dry, even have started cracking, it doesnt meen that 6" below it is not sodden, and it anly takes a few made, throttle happy folk to start ripping a small rut open into a track wide mud hole.

Great if you like getting stuck, and even better for the anti-offroaders.

Remember we are all walking a fine line now to keep our lanes open so yes please use but do not abuse.

Well thats my 10 penneth phew!!

See y'all at the pub.

Joules I agree however Beds Row seem to be completly against greenlaners. Forty foot is a strange one. It has never been drivable in a std vehicle, it has never been a nice walk it has always been a rough lane probably before my time certainly 25 years ive seen pics of it. No doubt it will never re open again ever.

Beds seem to exclude greenlaners on every count where Northampton opened their lanes beds remained closed. I need to pop over to Harlington this is usually open if its not then there is a serious issue as that has been resurfaced and great drainage drivable in a car.

Beds seem to have a problem with motorvehicles using the lanes. My local councellor is against them i susupect a keen walker. he asked parliment what they are doing to stop 4x4's destroying greenlanes???

Its a fight we can never win but Beds need a kick up the backside as they are and have been against motorvehicles using the lanes. Some might say they are using the powers of a temporary TRO to place a permenant order this is not on.

The ground is dry round here at the moment. Im digging everyday so dont believe they are to wet. Like Jai says bedford want all lanes shut. A lot of the lanes are used by farmers who maintain them.
