 so got in my new toy this morning started ,reversed :) then [air suspension inactive on dash] great ,
spent rest of day looking at causes [theres alot] sat the wife down made her a brew told her the news  her words ,,,,should never of got rid of the p38 she,s very wise is my misses:D anyway were to start ideas plz
forgot to say there was a thud when i released the handbrake.

jack it up first and check the hand brake pads see if the retainer clips and springs are still there and check how much is on the pads. plus see if the hand brake cable ends are still attached to the cables. then look at fuses on the air sus. and so on checking. have a look on the forums at what to check its got lots on it. you can get new seal kits for the compressors so dont panic mr mannering. ;) oh try turning the streeing wheel full lock from right then to the left first. see if it resets its self.

thanks but tried fuses, steering turn light on in centre of switch and normal ride hight plugged delphi in to clear codes but as soon as you start engine its back

best to get the codes read for the suspension inactive message, to many components in it to start swapping parts out or guessing

could be the air management system. if the bags are going up ok and staying there then i would look at the ecu also cheak the battery is good and has good connection

On the L322 there are a couple of systems all tied to the CANbus, if one fails it will halt the CAN and the systems it is attached to.

What fault codes are coming up on Diagnostics?

If the ABS system goes south (due to a faulty sensor etc), the EAS will also fault out.

Get it on some good diagnostics and see where you're at.

I would order yourself an allcomms, if it's an 02-05, sit your missus down, tell her you are not touching the L322 until it turns up, the rest is up to you ....;)

Are you on drugs ?

Morning Alan, Along with the plot and my handbrake pads, I was trying to work out how the hand brake would cause the EAS to fault out but I think he was referring to the thud when taking off the handbrake although not clear after 6 Guinni, not sure that's the plural for Guinness, although mine makes a noise if it's been standing for a day in the rain and there is a rust build up on the discs, I'm tired :(

holidaychicken you miss understand what i mean.the hand brake on mine has just done the same noise so i checked it when i put new discs and pads on and the hand brake cable metal ball hand come off the end of the cable at the back of the plate. plus the spring clip hand snapped out of its hole as well. when i talked about the air sus, i mean check the ECU before putting new bits on as it could be the problem if the sus is staying up and pumping up straight away. then i said dont be thinking its going to need a new pump cause you can buy a seal kit for £12 in stead of hundreds if thats stopped it could be a small job but first i would put it on allcoms a must

i realised that after i put my ramblings down, my handbrake failed and all the internals spewed out when i removed the disc and the retaining pins had pulled through the backplate.

Diagnostics is the way forward of the EAS....guessing is foolhardy.

He asks for IIDTool..... I think it is a great idea, but if your pixels are shot or the instrument pack goes south, your buggered.

Best to go for All COmms at the base end (iCarsoft apparently is capable) or go Faultmate....Hawkeye is a poor investment if you ask me as it can't re-cal the EAS....wtf!!

Not if you get the BT IID Tool

If the RR is 02-06 then All Comms, 06 onwards IID Tool for diagnostics. iCarsoft is pretty poor
