Yeah, see my Discovery thread for just how bad it gets lolz, mine got worse and I mean, a LOT worse

So you ought to have it ready just in time for the closing ceremony for the last petrol pump in the UK then :D

It won't be ready when i'm 6ft under one of those vehicles ;)

Either that or i see sense and buy a RRC

Petrol pump, pah runs on gas.. :D

Plus i won't be i the UK when she's finished :D:D Hopefully. ;)

I started reading the list and then just saw ££££££££££££££ when I got halfway!

I thought my chassis was scary but **** me id take chassis welding over that wiring all day!!! My loom to the rear is sat on the seat and all I needed to do to start it was plug in the fuel sender :D

It’s a nice one without all that work.

Itl be the one in a vacuum chamber in a museum in 1000yrs with a write up saying how the Neanderthals lived.
Next to the genetically modified mastodon :)

It will be "pretty" when done, but with LPG it will be my Daily When finished, no fair weather car here, they're meant to be driven. ;)

Just making the list so hopefully it'll be "reliable"..

Well as relaible as a RR can be anyway ;)

There are more than likely more reliable RR on the road than the buckets of sxxxe owned by some members on here most only come here cause there's a problem and it usually starts with picked up a bargain got it for a snip/steal...lol

Come on that’s a bit harsh.
The long termers on here rarely post problems. If they do then they follow advise and finalise the fix so as not to pay huge bills at the stealer. What we see on here a lot is regular maintenance that has been lacking by POs (due to cost or not knowing). Or tips on how to do this yourself rather than pay the stealers.
A lot of members on here buy a bag of sxxx (or is that one of the so called reliable RRs) and fix it to get a nice reliable runner that may have previously been lost.

I would agree loads come on with, “I am so happy got me a Landy, but this don’t work or this or this” or “I have owned it for years and now it’s run out of oil why?” Get their fix and disappear. Maybe they were the ones with the reliable RRs?

So are you saying you have an unreliable piece of xxxx because your here too? Or are you just here for help with your 101? Knowing you a little, I would answer my own questions with a no.
Have you totted up what yours has cost? Probably not.
When it comes to cost it really doesn’t matter if you are prepared/ capable to do the labour part of the work, which most here are, it actually works out cheap.

Henry is young and starting out and has a good base car, I don't see a problem with what he wants. Yes the list may slim down but, I am sure he will be going down the road in his comfy sofa at some point:).

I’m one! :D
Bought RR £500, how do I fix lol.

Difference is rather than disappear I had so much fun here I stay. Got my share of **** taking but Hippo showed me - just do what you can. Hopefully something I put on here will help someone, if not I tried and if even 1 new member gets a warm welcome then I feel I’ve done my part :)

FairPlay to Shippers he always makes time for the newbs - well done mate

That’s my rant over, back to Henry’s thread...:p

My post was meant a little tongue in cheek!...but I meant that there are plenty of reliable RR around a lot more than on here...
Not many on here with 101's to get help from...
From non-runner to inspected and a pass not including matriculation cost but new..
electronic dizzy/coil/leads/plugs
alternator
water pump
brake cylinders and shoes/flex hoses
clutch master/slave cylinder/flex hose
clutch/brake resevoirs/brake master kit
suspension bushes/inner tube
cooling/heating pipes
carb kits and fuel pipes
choke and accelerator cables
steering damper/swivel seals
indicator stalk/temp and oil guage
filters/fluids/wipers/number plates
batteries and wire/connectors etc
new canvas tilt and paint
only thing not costed for was cylinder head removal due to PO fitting long reach plugs and one snapping on removal...
no chassis work needed as it had been galvanised prior to leaving UK...
Total cost Inc purchase circa 4k€
insurance basic 73€ to incuded 2 recovery
agreed 15k value 560€
Still can't drive it though IMT has taken on 12 more staff to deal with Brexit applications for change of driving licences and ignoring matriculation even non-UK nationals are flocking to change licences.

Gave the 'ole beast a good clean after she's been sitting around..
Even cleaned and waxed the roof ;)

I remember years ago watching a Mer salesman on a stall at a car show. He set fire to a bonnet he had on the table to show how the mer wax stopped it from melting. I ****ed myself laughing when the demonstrators gazebo roof on the stall caught fire. It was like a scene from Monty Python - fond memories

I will conciede its a pain in the man organ, but TBF what Land Rovers aren't a pain?

When it gets going again she'll be a daily driver, Can't stand garage queens that never move.

She will be restored.

Covered in Crap, rinse and repeat.

A proper RR not a glam mobile, but it will look good when clean ;)

I think I could be £14 grand in on mine now, I just can't help myself :) But it's all bits and pieces, never more than a few hundred at a time unless it's tyres of course ;)

I've helped more folk than I can remember, some I've never seen or heard from again and some I've met in the flesh so to speak, absolutely nothing like they seem on the forum, actually nice people  :)

@Henry_b Fully sequential LPG or BLOSS carb jobbie?
