Can anyone give me some advice rather than " YOUR POSTING ON THE WRONG FORUM" all I'm after is to know if 275/70/18 tyres fit on a standard defender without having to modify, or if so what modifications would I need to do

What is wrong with standard size tyres?

I brought it with cooper att3 265/65/18 on it but would like the Stt pro, and I can only find them in a 275/70/18

Personally, I would look in the owners book or manual, and put the size of tyre suggested therein on it.
If you are particularly struck on one brand of tyre, I am sure they are available in that size if you order them.

Also, friendly comment, but the thread title of "Help" is so vague that it will not get the attention it may deserve.

Your original question is "if 275/70/18 tyres fit on a standard defender without having to modify" to which the answer is no as the standard size rims are 16-inch and you can't fit an 18-inch tyre to a 16-inch rim.
You then follow up with "I brought it with cooper att3 265/65/18 on" which shows that you already have 18-inch rims fitted which were not fitted by LR and are therefore a modification.
If you are happy running 18-inch rims then fine, will 275/70x18 fit ok I don't know but hopefully someone will come along who has experience of that particular size.

Are you set on retaining the 18-inch rims?
I ask as reverting to standard 16-inch will give you a far wider choice of tyre makes and also the STT PRO is a mud tyre and it is strange to fit an 18-inch mud tyre to an otherwise standard setup as normally you want maximum sidewall height.

Personally I have been running Cooper 265/75x16 ST MAXX on my 90 for years now and they are fine (as well as being the factory fit size), not as good on the road as the BFG AT's they replaced but everything in life is a compromise.

Can I ask are you putting the mud tyres on for the look or because your going to use them as they are uncomfortable and nosey.

plus if you really really need the mud you should consider going back to 16” wheels for the lager size wall height.

Never thought of tyres as nosey!! They can be intrusive though o_O

If your Landy is already running 18" rim's with 265/65 tyres on the steering stops have probably already been adjusted as this set up will give you approx 30mm extra wheel diameter compared to the standard 265/75/R16 set up. Does it turn like an oil tanker when you're in a car park?
The tyres you are looking at are adding another 10mm to your current diameter and 5 to the width. Chances are they will rub on the radius arms as you get towards full lock on the steering. So, you will have to adjust the stops again. You also need to consider the articulation of the axle and how much space there is in the wheel arch before the new set up hits the inner wheel arch/wing.
I know it's a lot of money to fork out at once, but I'm 100% behind all the advice above that recommends going back to the standard 265/75/R16 set up.

nobody has mentioned the impact on speed
if the standard is 265/75R16 then with 275/70R18 you'll be doing less revolutions per mile, in other words travelling faster than the speedo indicates

Na dit requires more effort from the engine to get it there, standard tyres on you will think it has been tuned...lol

They come, they go, but as ever they are back when they break something else or are stuck...

or they sell the landy cos it ain't fast enough or comfy enough or it needs constant fettling..
