Hi, I'm stuck on removing the hub carrier. the nuts off the upper joint, the stem snapped on the lower joint level with the collet when I tried to remove the nut. I've got pickle forks hammered in and it's not dropping, do I need to remove the collet first because it wont budge. Thanks Jim.

no, hit the fork harder or hit the housing directly opposite the stuck taper

Worth trying a bit of heat. Mine came out in the end!!

I couldn't break the tapers at all, I ended up cutting the tapers off, put the hub carrier in my blacksmith forge and punching them out at red heat, it still took a good wallop with a 3lb hammer. All done now. Thanks for your help.
