Hi there , because I am going the 11th of august 2019 on a long adventure trip to Southern Morocco and the Western Sahara and my 2003 Discovery 2 td5 didn't pass the MOT due to a medium oil leak (they are very strict in Belgium) I decided to throw some TLC and lots of money at it , Fitted a new AMC head , Turbo Cartridge , waterpump , Steering pump , A/C condenser , piping , new oil cooler seals , oil filter seals , FPR kit , flushed and cleaned al the parts and did everything by the original workshop manual . But no cigar !! It started immediately but emitted an enormous amount of white smoke and the oil just disappeared instantly ,and there was some liquid (?? oil/water/diesel I don't know what mix) coming out of between the exhaust/turbo manifold. I stopped the car instantly so it didn't overheat . What did I do wrong ?

OMG you are absolutely right !! I can't thank you enough !!!!!!! Just one question did I destroy the new cartridge by doing that or am I okay restarting ?

At a guess...if you left the return blocked the turbo would be filled with oil and possibly ok. If the flow was blocked it wouldn't of faired so well?
I would give it a good run and check for oil bypassing the seals and turbo noise.

Thanks Flossie , but like james said I ruined the seals , send it back for overhaul ;-)
