Porch

Hello all!! I want to go Mondo till I can save enough shekels to sort the transmission out but don't have the required equipment (big enough ramps, trx bits). Would like a bit of a hand hold as well tbh and was wondering if anyone around North Essex would fancy sparing an hour and helping me out?? I can pay in Homebrew as I am very poor and have no money!! So if you fancy being a Good Samaritan, making a new friend and earning some undying gratitude and Homebrew, let me know!! L Series Hippo BTW if it makes a difference!!

You dont need any ramps or special tools to whip a prop off :)

Speaking as someone who's removed a prop in M&S car park because the wife abandoned it there on her way to work (fair enough - the front bearing had shattered), I can tell you you need no special tools or equipment.

Front prop-IRD - you need a 13mm spanner and an ordinary socket to hold the other end.

Rear prop-diff - a couple of spanners (I forget the size).

VCU - 10mm socket and extension. Completely remove two bolts and remove the other two nearly all the way, then lift the VCU and undo them all the way, and lower the VCU onto your chest. It's not that heavy.

You don't need big ramps - drive it up on a kerb like I did. Axle stands are better though.

Interesting...... Might try the kerb trick.... Tho I am rather... Rotund. Assumed you needed star sockets for the bolts.... Will have a crawl (flop?) under later after work and have a scouting mission with some spanners.... Thanks guys
