Hi Jt
The Maxifuse nr 2 is for the starter as you've found and also the air suspension compressor (via the relay). Looks like the compressor has a fault OR there is a problem with your fuse box - a known fault on these. This will require the removal of the fusebox to check properly but do you see any melted plastic etc anywhere in there?

Hi Derek

I had a look and could see some discolouration around the heated windscreen relay. Nothing else too obvious.
I took the RR out to the local garage to pick up replacement fuses and it was OK on the way there although it showed that it was trying to raise the suspension to normal height. On the way back she blew the new fuse and after about 10 mins I got the dreaded EAS Fault warning with all the ride height indicators lit up.

inside the black box on the nearside inner wing.

Found the compressor as described (much easier in the daylight). I replaced the blown maxi fuse jumpered 12V across the relay. The pump gave 1 or 2 loud clatters but enough for me to know that was the source of the problem. I have since removed the pump and stripped it down. The metal arm from the motor to the pump has sheered in two. No wonder it was blowing fuses. Anyway all I need now is new compressor.
Thanks for all your help.
