nobody has yet pointed out that disco and defender of same age are basically the same mechanically.... if your disco was a lectronic ghizmod td5 a defender of the same age potentially is just as prone to lectronjcs going wrong.
for simplicity and reliability you need to look at 90 to 94/5 200 and 300 tdis after that the 300tdis started to get lectronics on injection pumps, abs, etc
for something that aint going to get used a lot bear in mind that older discos are usually favourably priced compared to similar age defenders.

Thanks I will have to check when I find one I like.
Thanks for that. I would prefer to stick to the simpler models. So 90 to 95 it is then.

And finally
Does anyone know anywhere to buy a Defender not far from Yorkshire.
When I put it into Google it brings up main dealers who dont seem to have the older ones.

Check the for sale section on here and Ebay ... but be careful if buying off Ebay, get it well looked at and checked out first if possible
