plus would,nt trust the local garages near to me after them ***king it up the first place. so any help would be greatly appreciated.

they need rebalance and mixture. have a balancer, got it through emissions at my old mot garage 40 miles away by tweaking them by ear and thier emissions machine. and they said would need to be balance as they had,nt a clue but we got a average hydro carbon reading and a very low co2 reading which ment she does,nt pull like she should from mid to high rev range so that slight imbalance is causing me to have down shift early on the hills. where before local garage mucked em up she used to fly up them.

What type balance is it the plastic bead type that goes up and down the tube , if so they Are not very accurate the digital or mercury type are best . I used to do bikes with twin triple quadruple and six carbs and found those types to be far more accurate with the mercury type you must insure there are no breaks by gently tapping the tubes .

get doc evil onto this he will sort you a treat.

zenith strombergs are rubbish best thing you can do is either bin em and get some
SU's or better bin the lot and fit late classic injection :)

she was an efi when i originally brought her but it gave me nothing but problems was simpler to put her on carbs as we was rebuilding the engine
in 2010 rather than trace or replaceing efi loom as it was burning out relays and iginition modules. but thanks anyway

got a old smiths vacum gauge that you clip into place and sits in the middle of both carbs, but a friend from market rasen way when we live,d there set them up when rebuilt the engine in 2010 as he was a lpg v8 legend around there. was running fine til mot this year. and the garage tried to tell me she was 9 times what the emissions should be. so i let him at them and he just fooked everything up. so took her back to the old garage i was using for mots and they let me tinker around to get it through mot
but they did,nt have the gear or knew anything about carb set up they,re just into plug and play computer cars the old knowledge seems to be dieing out

yep sadly true i (used) to know how but it has been some time and i no longer have
a vac gauge of the right type. i still think SU's would be MUCH better than the strombergs
and less problematic in use after setting.
if you can fund it i would go for a holly or Webber on an edlebrock easer to set up
more tuneable just better (as long as you dont spend a lot of time at silly angles
or they can starve)

thanks for the help anyway. and yes the old girl does spend much of her time at silly angles as it works off track most of the time

SU is by far the best set up , almost injection economy , without the electronics , will stay in tune better than the stroms , no diaphragm to worry about .
