Hi all, I'm in need of some advice, I have a freelander 2 2.2 diesel and just occasionally when I start the engine I can put my foot down and have no response from the engine nothing at all and when I try to press the start stop button nothing happens, have to unmount the key to switch the engine off, leave if 10 minutes and usually the problem has gone away, any suggestions on this would be most welcome

Sounds like some form of communication error.
What year is the vehicle, and how old is the battery? A failing battery can cause all sorts of strange issues with these really complicated vehicles.

2010 freelander, think its still the original battery, have had it checked and they said it's ok, might play safe and get a new battery

It's doing well, as the FL2 is a power hog, so batteries generally last no more than 4 years.
Replace it with a correct capacity replacement, and see if issues go away. ;)

Hi Nodge68, so I changed the battery and all week have had no problems with the landy what so ever, should have posted on here first rather than spend time and trouble at the garage only to be given a list of possible problems, none of which were the battery ! Cheers mate, have a fantastic bank holiday
