Thanks 50 Pence, I'll definitely be looking out for rot, rear air suspension and everything electric! Would there be something attached to that spigot if the kit has been put on? Or is there a way of know by engaging difflock?

If you can slide the transfer 'box lever from side to side, someone has installed the cable connection.

I thought it seemed a bit steep so that's cleared that up ;)

As for my car it's nothing special, maybe even chavy some will say! Honda civic type-r, quite fast and very fun!

TD5 facelift. But I'm biased :D

Tekky stuff...I dunno, I get my local garage to do it  but it drives and tows marvellous.

Imo that is £1500 to £2000 too much money.

For £4000 you should be looking at facelift cars 2002+

Really? Not in my area. Searched for months for my D2 very recently and facelifts were generally 5-6k upwards unless you were talking 200k+ miles.

I got my 2000 ES with all the goodies for 4.5k in great conditions.

Everyone says ditch air and Ace but I love them both and I would pay for the repair costs if/when they go wrong. But its my main car not a weekend toy like some others.

A D2 definitely matches your needs by the sounds of it. I was very impressed watching someone else's on normal road tyres getting through some proper mud with the help of TC recently.

Haha, I sold my Type R for my disco. Like you say great fun, but I haven't looked back that's for sure.

I've only been looking at them for a few days and anything I've seen(in a color I like) has been over £3500 with over 100k.

My other problem is.......I'm gunna get hung for saying this on a landy site :behindsofa:.......I'm 28 and worried about looking like an old man or a farmer in it!!! Must still be my inner child thinking like that! I have mates who I call townies and mates who are country boys, I'm a mix of the two!

D2 is perfect between a farmer and a townie aka not a defender but not a RR not dissing either

I'm only 30 ;)

I'm more country boy than townie anyway.

D2 is not farmer though

Im a townie but want to a country boy! All i get called at work all day by co-workers is a farmer or country bumpkin As they show up in the mercs and bmws an i roll in the disco haha :D

Great comments chaps. These are the sort of encouraging comments I need to hear! I'm forever telling my misses she needs to stop worrying what people think of her, she turned to me yesterday when I was saying"will I look an old man having a disco as my only vehicle" and said :kettlepot: I had no come back!!

I'm meeting my town mates in the pub to watch the footy tomorrow so they'll be trying to undo all the good your comments have just done!!

But look at what **** they will all drive to pub in and think do i want something crap or something that puts a Hugh smile on my face ? Landrovers are like a virus once you get infected you can hide it away with medication (other cars) but it will always be in the back of your head that you wish you had one. Or to put it in simple turns "once you've had black theres no going back" white chicks haha !

Your very right there, only 1 of them has a decent car, the rest have sheds. And me being Mr Prepared for every eventuality a disco is great. I very nearly didn't make it home sat night after a meal because of the floods and my car being low. Floods, snow or ice, if your in a landy your prepared no matter what the weather throws at you.

And these days I'm more into camping and dog walking than nights on the town so I need whats practical for me and my life style.
