Thanks to everyone for their input.

After looking at you've said it looks like a 90. Over 2 years with an extra £1400 down it works out to be about £180 a month so cheap fun for 2 years!

Just the colour to decide on now

I still think it's madness. I got 17% off a bmw 135i which was unheard of. I still lost a fortune. Either way new cars of any kind lose a fortune in first 3 years. A landy depreciates less overtime, but drops like a lead balloon when driven out of a showroom

The 135i was a great car, was just about to replace my m3 with one. Unfortunately wifey was pregnant so had to get a fl2 instead!

With the current Defender ceasing production in the next couple of years, this could actually end up being a very good investment.

Their current offer is £6.5k deposit and then £199 per month which is not bad. Admittedly you have to find about £10k at the end but that's a long way off.

Hell if he could afford a new why not, warranty no hassle you can drive it on weekends as you aint fixing it, No HGFs, leaky axles, over heating..... uj's to fix:p:rolleyes:

Nver bought a brand new fender have you? These problems remain the same regardless of age.

The only difference between old and new is that on a new one you can get someone else to fix it for free

.. and that it drives straight (ish) for the first few miles of ownership .. ;)

That is not what a couple of LZ members I have had PM's with about there new Fenders with full factory warranty, have said.;)

What? Really the fleet we have is always going wrong straight off the bat. The 90 i had the speedo failed at about 500 miles on the clock. Theres been diff faults gear box faults, body mounting issues....try defender2 forum for more examples.
