Hi everyone. Due to a change in working circumstances I have a need to 'beef up' my L322 for it's increasing use on really crappy roads and lanes when working abroad.

It will be on 20" alloys with 275/60 tyres and I'd like some form of light but suitable protection for the underneath and proper wrap around bumper protection front and back.

I've already decided on the roof rack and lamp guards etc and I also have a spare set of 18" alloys to put bigger tyres on should the need arise.

I want to keep the Rangie rather than buy a Disco 3, G4 or Defender for lots of reasons I wont bore you with and I'm not after a full blown rock crunching, mud eating off roader.

So helpful suggestions please.
Ta.

dont think the 20" wheels are a good starting point.

not much choice for all terrain tyres in 20" either.

what year is your L322 ?

Dunno about the lights issue but surely a standard L322 with 18 inch wheels will be fine on any crappy roads - even third world ones, it still not as demanding as going off road proper.

Replace the air springs if they are still original (keep your current ones as backups) and you should be good to go.

I have used my P38 with 18 in wheels in Mongolia and other third word countries and as long as you have decent tyres on it it will be good.
The tyres I use are Michelin lattitude cross and they did 40000 miles last time and that was two trips to Mongolia via the stans and China and Russia

The 20" wheels wont be great tbh, better off with the 18s.
The foam wrap around bull bars dont really offer much protection, mainly for looks imo, but arb dont do bumpers for l322s sadly.
Mantec services i belive do sump guards for l322.s though :)
