hello
hopfully someone can help! i have a 1.8 freelander! :-( and cant code read it. i have used 3 different scanners and cant get in. i did manage to get into the airbag side usein a snap on scanner! but i want the abs side!
hope someone can help with this
thanks

You need the hawkeye diagnostic tool or faultmate at a high price. Or take it to a landy garage so they can run testbook for an also excellent high price.

They are the only bits of equipment i know that can access the ABS, anything else will just read engine faults or sometimes airbag (as you mentioned). I looked around a while back on this subject and many readers claim to access the vehicle but it only reads certain codes/values.

why do you need to access it? what fault light have you got? anything different happening when you drive now before the fault light came on? someone may be able to help if you explain what the problem is.

Hi thanks for that, the problem is the abs tc ecu, under the seat got wet and so did the drivers feet! LOL and so i replace the ecu and was advised to clear codes and off it should go! at the moment i have no speedo no abs no tc and no hdc.
hope you can help!
thanks jake

May be a trip to the local garage i think tbh, unless there is an independent mechanic/fault diagnostic in your yellow pages (which should be cheaper), they may have the hardware/software needed to access the area. Apart from that i can't help much more sorry unless someone else jumps in the thread.

And next time, use a boat if your planning on doing some fishing :D.

ok thanks there is a local place that i have been told have the gear to do it so i shall call them in the morning.
yes wont take it through water again, there was a d3 to the rescue tho lol
