Hi all,
So I bought myself a Defender a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if I paid the right money for it,but anyhoo it’s done now.
It is 2007 Defender 90 2.4 tdci its done 98000 miles but has a engine from a 2011 Defender that has done 28000 miles. Not sure how to verify new engine miles but I have a letter from 4x4 fabrication saying that such an engine was supplied to the person I purchased the vehicle from.
Anyway it looks great and I can’t wait to get out in it and start meeting some of the Land Rover community.

How do fellow manc and welcome to the zoo toolshed. Where are you from in Manchester.

If you know the year the engine was fitted, you could look up the mileage on the gov mot website to see the mileage at the time.

Hi thanks for the welcomes, I am in east Manchester and also looking to join a club for some greenlaning plus advice on where to take my Defender for services and MOTs. Saxavordian looking at them pictures you posted did make me laugh especially when I realised what in set my username as.
Do any of you guys do greenlaning? I can’t wait to go and get my tyres muddy :)

Hi I do know when the engine was fitted but not the registration of the vehicle it came from. Is it possible to do with the engine number? I’ll have to see if I can locate it. Thanks Hippo.
Hi and welcome @Flower Pot
I’m from Oldham originally and living in the North West.
Have you looked at the Regional posts yet? :)
Hi, not yet I’ll go there next.
Thanks Pushmi-Pullu.

I was thinking you were trying to work out the mileage on yours since the engine was changed. You won't be able to find the mileage of the replacement engine without the reg plate of its original car.

That is what I thought. I have the invoice for changing the engine change with mileage at the time.
Thanks
