Hello all,

Thought I'd say a quick hello and introduce myself and my Land Rovers.

My name's Alys and I'm based in Norwich, Norfolk.

I've got four Series Landys - one Series 2, two Series 2as and, as of the weekend just gone, a Series 3.

All of them are SWBs - mainly because I find LWBs to overwhelming for someone of my height, and also because I find them more aesthetically pleasing.

The first is my 1960 Series 2 - Douglas, who is currently having a new gearbox and various other bits and pieces swapped in and restored:

The next is Sophie, who is an ex-GPO 1967 Series 2a, who is currently in the process of being done up in her full GPO livery. Below is a "before" picture and in the second she's the mid-bronze green one, next to another ex-GPO owned by a friend:

Then there is Fiona, the 1968, who, sadly, we are in the final stages of breaking:

And finally, there is Hannah, the 1975 Series 3. I haven't got any photos of her yet - but we got her started today for the first time in a few years and she is a really quiet runner and very grubby as well - considering how covered in muck I got when I trying to take off her starting motor :)

She's going to be my first project, as it where, as I really want to learn the proper maintenance and mechanics behind these beasties, instead of having to get the other half to do it all the time.

Anyway, that's me..well, more Land Rovers than me..but you get the idea.

welcome and hello nice landy's you have there, why are you breaking one if i may ask

r

Thanks for the welcome Richard.

And we decided to break her, due to (lack of) time and the fact she was such a bitsa that we would never really use her or be able to sell her on - as harsh as that sounds.

helloo and :welcome2: from another girly with a swb S3:D mine doesn't have such a nice name as any of yours tho lol, she's called Pig:p mainly because she grunts like one and is a bit of one to drive, but also because i have a habit of saying 'that'll do pig'( from the film Babe lol) whenever we pull up anywhere:eek:
you'll enjoy it here as long as you have a good sense of humour, which lets face it you must have if you've got 4 landy's:D:D

Heh, bless! I'm sure Hannah will soon turn out to be a pig - she back fired a few times on getting her started for the first time today - but other than that, she's being nice to the time being!

And yup, a sense of humour is one thing I definitely have with all the Landys to keep me amused.

welcome....... i am up your way at the weekend... i'm off to beeston (pit) for some playing :D

Oooh good fun :) Haven't been over there yet - need to take the Disco out for some fun soon.

And Richard, depends on how knackered the kidney is I suppose. Mine is in very good nick due to lack of alcohol, so I should think I could get a fair bit on the black market (aka nhs) for it ;)

Only a couple of scratches then?

And I'm trying so hard not to quote the Black Knight in Monty Python :(

Black Knight: 'Tis but a scratch!
King Arthur: A scratch? Your arm's off!
Black Knight: No, it isn't!
King Arthur: Well, what's that then?
King Arthur: I've had worse.
King Arthur: You liar!

Damnit, couldn't resist.

Welcome to the nut house :) , but first you must cut down the largest tree in the forest with ---- a herring :D .
Oh and another thought , what is the average wing speed volocity of a swallow ????

Would that be a European or an African swallow?

In my experience they both indicate a very interesting evening! ;)
