Hello all,
Thought I'd say a quick hello and introduce myself and my Land Rovers.
My name's Alys and I'm based in Norwich, Norfolk.
I've got four Series Landys - one Series 2, two Series 2as and, as of the weekend just gone, a Series 3.
All of them are SWBs - mainly because I find LWBs to overwhelming for someone of my height, and also because I find them more aesthetically pleasing.
The first is my 1960 Series 2 - Douglas, who is currently having a new gearbox and various other bits and pieces swapped in and restored:
The next is Sophie, who is an ex-GPO 1967 Series 2a, who is currently in the process of being done up in her full GPO livery. Below is a "before" picture and in the second she's the mid-bronze green one, next to another ex-GPO owned by a friend:
Then there is Fiona, the 1968, who, sadly, we are in the final stages of breaking:
And finally, there is Hannah, the 1975 Series 3. I haven't got any photos of her yet - but we got her started today for the first time in a few years and she is a really quiet runner and very grubby as well - considering how covered in muck I got when I trying to take off her starting motor
She's going to be my first project, as it where, as I really want to learn the proper maintenance and mechanics behind these beasties, instead of having to get the other half to do it all the time.
Anyway, that's me..well, more Land Rovers than me..but you get the idea.
Alys
