I'm pretty sure I need a heater matrix or a minimum of O rings on my 2000 Range Rover. How bad is this can I tackle it myself, I'm better than your average backyard mechanic. I have "Coolant on the floor, no $ in the bank."
Thanks,

99% sure it's the "O" rings-fiddly but not too bad. Make sure you change the pipe clamp screw for an allen screw when refitting. (M5 X30 long-I think) you will be glad you did!! and be careful of the sensor clip on the heater matrix feed pipe, it's very flimsy and breaks easily-inexpensive but a pain in the ass when it goes on a Sunday afternoon!!

depends where your water is is . is it on the drivers side, then more likely to be o rings. iv just done mine. case of taken panel under steering wheelof and then gettin air trunkin out. then you will be able to see pipes on the the other side of pipes in the middle theres a possiescrew drive screw which is akward to get to i smashed a peice out the side of dash thats not seen and did the hole job in about 15 mins. gettin the air out the ****s the hardest canit do it been trying now for days, just had heads done and now thinking its down that path. carnt seem to find the option of posting something on here not easy to use
