Hi all,

I have got a 1992 defender, which was a van back that had the alpine windows fitted by the previous owner.

I bought a 2nd hand rear headlining and recovered it. I went to offer it up earlier and noticed there doesn't appear to be any fixing points for the rear finisher above the rear door. Is the roof on the county different from standard 90s?

What have other people done to fit this part of the headlining please?

Cheers

Dont know if this will help but what about double sided sticky tape, I bought two rolls of foam type double sided tape (simlar to what is used to stick number plates on) for less than £1 in my local Home Bargain store, it is really good stuff and very strong adhesive.

I would drill a couple holes in the central support bar and push some of those 'tree fittings' in, stop it from sagging and keeps it looking good!

There is 4 of these fir tree trim clips securing the rear roof panel. If I remember correctly the clips push into a basic u bracket that is spot welded on the inside of the rear panel of the roof.

Also as you can see the grab handles (2) , act as securing point for the rear trim panel

Ah ok, I might need to make up a couple of brackets then for the bit above the door to attach too!! Cheers
