They told me they wont look at anything post-tdi anymore. They want to stick to the series stuff, not the modern electronic ones.

Just passed on the message about the relays under the seat.

He will call the garage tomorrow. That thread sounds exactly the same as ours.

Whay hey hey ...the copper rings have been changed again and its working last we heard. They want to keep if for one more day to make sure that it starts up every time. The fuel pump is still noisy though? He said that that was ok? We are getting it back the weekend if all is ok with it.

My other half is now thinking of selling it as he cant bear anything else going wrong. Is it common for these copper rings to only last 6 months before they need changing?

Don't sell it !!!!!!!!!!!!

As for the copper washers, the answer's no. They should last a long long time, maybe need changing once or twice in the lifetime of the vehicle. Maybe they just weren't done properly first time around, or they used cheap bits.

i'm glad things are looking up for you. It's not normal for the copper washers to keep failing. You could just have been unlucky.
