glad you got it working....BUT

i dnt think its right if there was no codes the light would'nt be on as it would think its all working... see how you go hopefully the light wont come back on

is yours the early one by any chance with the orange indicators at the front

Thanks matt ...took it to three garages in the end, the first two said there are no codes and I should take it to Land Rover ...I tried my local one round the corner in Loftus and he said the same ...but he cleared faults even though there wasn't any ...he handed back the keys to me saying he would have a think about it for me, I turned on the ign and hey presto light was gone :)

Orange indicators ? mine is a 1998 so yeah early mate :)

Good stuff. I wonder what the cause was?

Wish I knew mate ... maybe a previous owner had the codes read, fixed whatever but the light didn't go out so took out the bulb and left it that way.

Ive read about after altering the throttle cable slack in MYFreelander site - it says if the light does not automatically go out - reset the light with testbook.

Anyway the moral of the story for me is get the codes read first before changing things - if there are no codes try clearing them anyway. cheers Nodge :)
