All,

I love this thread as it is spot on. I was meaning to get my rear cross member replaced for a while but was aprehensive because I wanted a quality product from someone that took pride in their work which can be hard to find. When I first stumbled onto this thread I knew that I would have to contact Black Sheep Offroad. I called Clive and he was able to schedule me within a week. When I arrived for my appointment Clive had already been hard at work prepping the crossmember. If you have not seen this crossmember then jump on their site as it is a solid bit of kit and fit like a glove to my chassis. Each piece that connects the crossmember to the chassis is fabricated for an exact fit. Clive even fabricated additional brackets for a tow bar/hitch that I brought with me. If you are going to have your cross member replaced then your first/only call needs to be Black Sheep Offroad.

Clive,

It was truly a pleasure and thank you for letting me hang out, hopefully I didnt get into your way too much. Please thank Thrifty for me for the electric work. I wish you all the best and I do hope you get some time off soon.

Cheers,
Doug

I wonder how many of the damn things Ive made now?
Not enough mate. Its a job for life if you want it just like undertakers or barbers. ;) Just shows you what a good design your xmember is that peeps keep asking for them. Have you considered franchising?

Tried to rip mine off by towing a trailer weighing nearly six tons last week. No joy so I guess its well and truly welded on. :) Should add was on private land as my mates tractor had a hissy fit and he needed it moved. Also should have realised that that air brakes on the trailer were locked on as I dont have air on my Defender. Probably why I only got it to move about 6 inches. Muppet!

shame about the bumpers - rang numbers of the blacksheep a web, land line not working but guy on the mobile said they'd stopped doing bumpers as it didnt make any financial sense. At £50 not surprised seeing the other tat around (and what Ive just paid for a bit of tin) could double that and still have happy peeps!

Clive dont stop work to answer the phone. Well thats what he told me anyhow.

Could anyone give me a location of the Blacksheep workshop
Unfortunately my jacking point collapsed the other week so I think there is sufficient rust to warrant replacement.
Just need to work out how far the trip is etc.

PS I have looked through the website for an address, but I could have been a tit and gone straight past it
