Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has a hawkeye near me. I'm in West Yorkshire, near Pontefract.

if not, is it a toll worth investing in? The idependent guy wants 40 quid for the priviliage of reading the fault codes.

Read the code 3 times, £120 resell the Hawkeye on ebay £220 covers the cost in the first place (once the hippo has died that is)

Yeah, looked on there last night, no one near by the looks. thinking of just buying a hawkeye.....
I've put vid's on you tube for peeps to see the menu's and some of what it can do. Will pay for itself if you have enough faults.

Buy hawkeye ~ £300
use and sell for ~ £220
loss of £80

Get codes read £40
Fix issue
Get codes re-read £40
loss of £80

Only need to read it 3 time to be in profit :)

Yes that's me. It's not a patch on the one about about programming a transmitter only to find code p1672 appears which means my immobiliser needs a re-sync to the engine ecu as it's now permanently stalled/mobilised due to the hawkeye. That's something else the hawkeye can't sort out. Fob's work ok though.

Hippo, can Hawkeye read codes from the FBH?
Not sure. I have not seen anything to do with the fbh. You could look in the td4 vid's I put up to see if there's anything in them. I didn't have a td4. The vid's came from someone else's td4 I filmed.

How is it with the Jatco box ?, I hear the early Hawkeyes couldn't even read the G'box temp correctly, has this been sorted ?

Same problems as before even with the later v5 software. It can do some stuff. It's never going to be test book but it lists options that don't work on mine and others. So it's a common fault. I only bought it for the auto information anorl.

Is a hawkeye worth it? Well it does help but can't do everything. For the price it's not bad. Black box solutions do kit and they provide info about what it's doing, but I haven't used any of it. Knowones put vid's up of it doing things so you don't get to see it before you buy (hawkeye should pay me). To be honest their website needs to have a chart of products v vehicle options so we can actually see what does what. As a home mechanic the hawkeye is helpful. I filmed what it does when it's off, cold and running, hot and running, at 60mph for comparison later on.

I have an 03 td4 and can read most of the engine sensors with me blue tooth elm and an android tab with torq loaded but it doesn't work on earlier landrovers
