Hi,

For those looking at getting a diagnostic unit. An interesting bit of info.

Just been chatting with Bearmach, has anyone heard of the Hawkeye Total?

It apparently will work on ALL Landrover products that require a Diagnostic unit( except the RR sport Disco Sport and Disco 5 , iirc , but do not quote me, ask Bearmach for clarification ) .

The unit is unlocked , I could not get a clear answer on whether the leads are universal, It seems their sample unit did come with a Hawkeye Pro lead. Hopefully this is the case for production units.

The units will arrive mid Dec in Bearmach, not sure of available for sale date, Price at Stoneleigh was £250 , RRP is going to be £299.

Will be interesting to see how it works. Exactly what it covers.

Cheers

No Idea @meego ,

I understand the Hawkeye will not let you program second hand keys using the 6 digit code on the chip. But other than that I do not know the differences.

For specifics I would give Bearmach a call.

I know one of them does. Hawkeye or Nanocom but cant remember which one. Big outlay but worth its weight in gold when you need it. Cheers neilly.

nanocom does, which is why I got one.

The real benefit of this new hawkeye is that it is unlocked for ALL vehicles.

Which for some users could be a real bonus.

Cheers

The market for these is shrinking as Disco 2's and P38's etc pass out of the 'popular' phase, so possibly a good buy if you have multi-vehicle households or do work for others.

I'll pick up a Nanocom or Hawkeye on the cheap then...:D

Regarding the question above about cables... the Hawkeye Total still needs the separate dongles. From reading about it it looks like the main cable is used each time with a separate dongle plugged on the end like it did with the original Hawkeye, if the dongle is needed. The support option list on their site tells you if the dongle is needed for a specific computer on the type of vehicle yer want to use it on.

It's true the Hawkeye Total is unlocked for all LR vehicles ON THE LIST on their web site. That makes it a lot cheaper than the original if you need it for 2 or more vehicle types.

They dun't provide manwells. Peeps tend to play with it when their vehicle/heap int broke'd so they know how to use it when it is.
