Help please, I was having problems timing my 200tdi, then I noticed that there was movement at the bottom crank pulley, there is play in the woodruff key which is causing an inch play at the flywheel timing point, I can actually pull the woodruff key out with my fingers. I'm no mechanic, but this cant be correct, how do I resolve this please

timing on separate woodruff key . sprocket behind casing . new front pulley iro £40 new woodruff and do up f..in tight. pulley don't affect timing:) what prob you having with timing ?

From experience once the keyway goes a repair isn't effective, you can dose it with stud and bearing lock-but don't hold your breath

Hi Uncle Albert, the pulley I am referring to is the bottom toothed one that the timing belt goes onto, cheers Daz
