Throttle that is, just thought I would ask if anybody else suffers from a heavy throttle pedal? Have disconnected cable from housing and it slides nice and easy withi in the outer casing and moves the pedal up and down but once connected back at the housing it feels heavy, if that makes sense. The throttle housing is not sticking and also moves freely by hand, when I drive my Saab it feels so lite compared to the Rangie.
Perhaps it's just the way they are just wondering if all other V8s where the same.:confused::confused::confused:

It's an anti fuel usage device, which is designed to keep the tank full for longer. If they had a light throttle you would soon become bankrupt. :D:D:D

Mine isn't particularly stiff/hard but similarly, the throttle in my Saab is very light in comparison too.

It's probably entirely normal :)

Mine is heavy compared with previous cars. The other V8's i test drove before mine all seemed similar.

Only with the window down and listening to the exhaust note.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but I've just picked up an old 3.9 v8 and thought exactly this about the throttle cable - well, I searched for the 'problem' and found this thread.
I wouldn't even say it's smooth control either. I didn't have this issue in my old 2.5TD, it just felt 'normal'.
I'll have a look at the cable itself in the daylight, but any other suggestions or thoughts? or did we come to the conclusion it's normal?!!

The 8s I've driven didn't feel heavy. Got to be dirt in the sleeve or a pivot point. What else can it be?

Not heavy but tighter than my series 2a, off road bumps I cannot keep a steady throttle position but with the V8 Disco off road I can keep the accelerator at one possition
