I must say I find this all amazing. Not one of you has actually travelled with Protrax. I'm the only one. How do you know all this? Well, dare I say it, you don't and that is my beef with this thread.

we havent travelled with them because we would rather put the effort in and do things ourselves along with many other reasons. My main reason is i dont like travelling with large groups. I would rather go as a solo vehicle everywhere, but often for laneing trips invite close friends. mostly 3-4 other vehicles. to me that is a large group when you have been on your own in the Sahara.

We all know this because we have been out on lanes AT THE SAME TIME AS PROTRAX, hence the opening post  stupid  and I myself have witnessed over 20 PROTRAX vehicles descending the Todra Gorge in Morocco on 17th October 2008. I HAD to pull over to let them through as a solo vehicle. hopefully I can find a pic. as i was disgusted at the 1/2 mile dust cloud created by them.
found it :) 8 vehicles in the shot, more to come around the corner.

the problem with protrax is guided greenlanes is not their only business. The do alot of training for big companies etc etc. so when the lanes close and things get sour, they will just go back to what they have always been doing. You have to remember that their not doing it because they love it, but because they are a profit making organisation.

James Im glad you had an awesome time and are happy with them I really am. I hope you go with them again and again and enjoy yourself. because your trip was not mirrored by 90boys or my own eyes in Morocco does not justify your rantings. and thats what they are, rantings.

I recently organised a trip of approx 110miles for 9 vehicles in 2 groups of 4 & 5 respectively, The same route was done last year by BoomerV8 also in several small groups no one paid on either occasion. I'll be organising a 200mile weekend trip to Salisbury Plains in Feb no one will have to pay for that either.

Anyone who does pay is either a moron or a lazy bastid. Now fook orf back to protrax and take your spam with yu Cuunt

Right i have just read this entire thread, james r leard to respect others before intelligence before you go shouting your mouth off and telling them they are full of horse****!
From what i have read on here you have don't seem to be capable of maintaining a friendship or even a working relationship long enough to go on a 'mates' laning trip, hence your need to pay for it!
Your disrespect and contempt for everyone else's opinion is amazing, i have discussed protrax with someone who went on one when i was out with my mates the general gist of the conversation was the guy would never go anywhere near them again.

18 vehicles in convoy be it as a single group or 2 groups that met up is NOT acceptable! even my little brother could tell you that and he's 13

i think an 18 vehicle convoy will do some damage thats 36tons of vehicle overall (vehicle + passengers and kit) especially if some most of them are running mud tyres

every vehicle on a laning trip should have a minimum amount of recovery kit and knowledge front and rear recovery points (not lashing points), a decent rated rope or strop, rated shackles and a spade

go now slag off what i have said ......... i'm waiting

* Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the victim. Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others.

Sadly not, Goon. You're still confused and not listening to anyone other than your internet mates. People get stuck in green lanes you know? It happens, especially if that person is a novice, in which case they'd need an instructor wouldn't they? I can't imagine that everyone has the giddy heights of your abilities in a Land Rover, Goon!

Im a complete novice and I didnt get stuck :p:p:p didnt have an instructor niether jus 2 tw@ts commentin on my peaches all fookin day  :)

Have you been at the Sanatogen? NURSE! He's out of bed again.

Dear heart, I'm not here to make friends. For a start I don't have a beard and moreover I am not a member of the Campaign for real ale. I'd have no chance.

I'm not sure how many times I have to say it but there was NO DAMAGE. None. Based on what you've said, there'd be a little man in a high vis gilet with a clipboard counting off the number of cars using the valley and closing the road when 17 cars went through in a year.

BTW - we had all the things you describe as that was in the joining instructions.

Next!

So there was absolutely no sign whatsoever that a large group of vehicles drove the lane?? There already are little men in Hi Viz vests. with clipboard and they regularly get lanes closed because of companies like yours. try googling "Yorkshire Dales TRO" And the law is very clear if there are more than 10 vehicles in a group they are classed as a organised convoy and must have police permission to drive a public highway, Inc greenlanes.
