yup mine's broke, failed it's mot on bottom oil seal leak on pas box so have to wait till i can afford a new one and cut the bugger off.

happy day's without a job:D

Chuck a capful of brake fluid in it. It worked for mine and the seal has fallen out of the bottom of the steering box and is sitting on top of the drop arm.

Mines got a nasty vibration when been driven under load. I:E when coming down hill under engine braking or when slowing down for junctions. Goes away completely if I press the clutch. I'm assuming it's the prop or an output shaft

mines ok ish, needs some brakes fitting which is being done thursday, until then i just don't drive too far or very fast:D oh and i start braking a mile before i actually want to stop:eek:

my old series i had to pump the pressure up 100mtrs before i had to stop :D

not sure that mine qualifies as "broken" - I removed the broken engine, just not quite got round to fitting the replacement yet! :D

Mine's broken too. Broke an airspring on Salisbury plain on Sunday.

Got it home on the AA transporter and the battery had gone flat!

Got a new spring though so I'm going to have fun fitting it in the cold and dark tonight. Brrr.

Guy

Was the batt flat due to the suspension pump running constantly?

Think my lightweight is a bit broken

Mine has either a duff battery or bad earth, will find out later today,
but either way thanks to "fuggy" who stopped cos my bonnet was up yasterday. That hasn't happend since i drove beetles, and i met my first LZer too, sutton soon.

o/

about 11:30 lastnight....top damper mount-bracket broke.... :(
Should have a repalcement bracket/bush's'nbits to get it back on the road for tonights snow... :)

Typical, I leave the house today under a tiny bit of snow, Get to my Landrover and realise it is only running on front wheel drive for the next few days. DOH!

Its not a nice feeling knowing i am basically driving a rather heavy and un-aerodynamic hatchback at the moment

No, it started fine to get it lined up for the transporter. Everything shut down for the way home. Get there an hour and a half later and it's did as the proverbial. I did get an interesting looking message up in what looked like german on the dash though.

It just wanted to rub salt into the wound I reckon.

Just gone out and fitted the auxiliary idler pulley and bracket. Fitted aux belt (bitch of a job without removing the fan...which I didn't)

Started up engine, fan isn't moving. "What?" Methinks. Goes around, looks down, the main bolt out my crankshaft pulley (correct name?) is sitting out, all the way out nearly, stopping the fan moving making my crankshaft pulley wobble like a bitch.

Radiator is coming out tommorrow...
