Hi all, bit of a numpty question... I'm not exactly sure were my hand brake indicator light microswitch or something along those lines lives. I have recently replaced my prop shafts, and in so had to remove the hand brake drum as a stud snapped. Now my hand brake light is on permenantly. Not so much of a problem yet, but the MOT is in november. oh dear... Any help is greatly received. Cheers, Ali.

Not sure where the switch is.

I dont think this light is MOTable, as mine doesnt work and I have so far not had a problem.

Thats good to hear, Its is stuck on at the moment so is kind of distracting, I guess i'll find it eventualy. cheers, ali

did the brake shoes come off when you removed the transmission brake drum i think the switch is actually under the vehicle where the mechanism bolts to the bodywork.

Mine doesn't have one but somebody started a simmilar thread some time ago and I think they found the switch on the handbrake lever mechanism inside the cab.

cheers, I'll have another look. couldn't spot it earlier though probably for all the mud falling in my eyes. Cheers ali

Be careful - I understand from my local mechanic that the handbrake light also comes on when excessive movement detected in rear brake balancing valve - if the whole circuit isn't complete you may not get the warning - I'm not 100%~ sure.
