If they are DRLs, they need to be wired to an ignition-switched supply and dim or switch off when you turn on the side light. With the integrated indicator function, the DRL should switch off when indicating. As they are integrated into the headlamp they probably do this automatically, but make sure they do. So take a supply from the back of the switch, run it through a 5A fuse and into the engine bay through the main grommet. Also bear in mind that also you are not technically supposed to have more than one front indicator per side.
What I did on my old 90 was fit dual-filament brake light lamps in the front sidelight position, with clear lenses. With the use of a couple of relays, the brighter filament was wired as a DRL, with the dimmer filament as the sidelight. That way it all looks standard.
