hi there
i am after a series 3 prefer an 88 but a 109 will do, not too bothered about condition as long as it runs or i can make it run without too much work, ie dont want to be stripping it down and rebuilding an engine, if anyone has something please let me know
cheers ben:D

depends what condition its in really, i dont want to spend anymore than £800/£1000 on summat as i can get a 1973 series 3 88inch 2.25 derv with a galv chassis in good runnin order for £800 locally, but didnt want to spend that much really as my budget is tight and im obviously gonna need cash to do it up

Buy it!!

i would have usually but the bloke who is sellin is a breaker and a bit of a rogue, so im not sure if it will turn up some nasty treats, he said summat about the clutch is seized, sounded like a good buy but didnt really want to spend that much on the initial vehicle as there are plenty on fleabay much cheaper,

offer im £600,he will prob say £700.snap it up,n yuv got £300 left t spend on it.

You are always going to be patching/repairing a series chassis..if you can get a galvanised one for that money (haggle a bit) i'd take it...half the probs you ever have with a landy are solved..

Then you can improve and repair as you go...better than getting some shed for 400 and in 12 months having to scrap it or get a chassis fitted..

Used doors/panels on ebay all the time....save your pennies and 1 fine day do an engine conversion to a 200tdi...

i had to haggle to get it too £800, he wanted £1200 to begin but i said it was too dear for me, and still is really, i know im not gonna get a minter for my budget and anything i buy WILL need work, but thats half the fun, im lookin for summat my little lad can have a play with too, he is 10 and gettin to the stage where he is more and more interested so i said i would try and find summat cheap so we could have a mess about try and get i through a test and take him out laning in it

Up to you...but you cant go far wrong with a galv chassis to that price to be honest..

Good luck...and remember...almost the first question anyone asks when buying a landy is ''whats the chassis and bulkhead like''...theres a reason for that!! Clutch isnt an expensive job....and you can spend as little or as much as you want on a landy...in your own time.

Your local one sounds a good enough bargin, if it looks alight.

Carefull with fleebay, my gf bought be a series 2a 109 for my birthday (a proper project) as thats what i was after, the chassis looked good in pics, but she hadn't had chance to check it out and when i started stripping off the body i started to get supprised it was still in one peice and not 3!!!

Also the paperwork said it was a series 2 (not 2a) so finding parts is impossible and expensive

With a galv chassis? Where?
its in staindrop county durham, just been to have a look, it looks like the only decent thing on it is the chassis, everything else on it is fooked!!!, it looks like its been a write off its absolutely battered, no floor in the back footwells gone bulkhead gone,n lights, half a dash, no seats, both doors are beyond repair, i knownthey are all repairable but its just cost for me, but if anyone else is interested let me know and i will pass on his details

I'll be putting my s3 lightweight on ebay soon, got a 2.5td engine runs and drives ok,been on a sorn for about a year, lack of time and money :(.Open to sensible offers.

now it does quite seem the amazing offer that it was before.have you looked in the back for LRO or LRM they usually do a vehicles for under £1000, which is all the ****ed ones.

I wasn't asking where this one is I was asking where the "plenty of cheaper ones on ebay" were.

My mate is after a lightweight. He wants something he can do some work on not a minter. He's gonna be selling his series 1 because it doesn't need anything doing to it and he's bored. How much dya want for it?
