I go with injectors and the washers, mine did this, no power loads of smoke. After H/gask change mine was just so underpowered I could of cried. Found out that the end of the injectors were knackered, have been told that they are 'rifled' inside and that if they over heat (like mine did) or if there is water in the diesel (or silicon as per supermarket cock up some yrs back) it kinda shot blasts the ' rifled' bit away, once this is gone the diesel isnt injected in a spiral fashion and so dosnt burn properly.

Trust me I know nothing about engines and this info came from my local inde garage (Andies landies), he knows his stuff unlike me.

All the best HB

Hi,
This may be a longshot, but if the car has done high mileage, the cat may be collapsing, causing a restriction to the exhaust system...unfortunately,when this happens, the harder you load the engine, the more it struggles to rev.
Hope this may be of help.
Regards,
Duncan.

if your injector seals and washers are knackered then your oil level on the dipstick would of risen above normal, as the leaking fuel finds its way into the oil sump eventually ruining the engine by diluting the lubricating properties of the oil, also they sound harder to change than they actually are, did mine not so long ago, got advice from Shifty it took about 2 hours to change them

That is not correct.

I was saying that I thought the COPPER washers below the injectors were leaking thatb is, - leaking gas up into the fuel gallery. This will NOT cause fuel to reach the sump.

If the rubber-O-rings on the body of the injector fail and leak, then diesel does get into the lube oil.

If you take the injectors out to replace ANY of the five copper washers and O-rings, CHANGE THEM ALL.
