I'm in Solihull, right by . . . you guessed it . . . .LAND ROVER!

I used to work at loade lane, when i was 16. 12 years ago now mind! ive driven a disco round the jungle track.

Ive googled it and for me it'll take 34 mins to get there. apparently!

I hope this boozer does breakfast! lol

Matt

wow, i cant wait to see that in the flesh. looks mint.

Im going to be working like crazy to get my winch and bumper on tomorrow.

Matt

you're younger than me then ! (only by 4 years)

I see its where the treble four out the backside of Nuneaton meets the A5.

My run there will probably be (via maccys) through Meriden and Fillongley, into Nuneaton and out. The other option being a trundle down the M42.

If anyone wants to join me on the route there let me know. Meeting point would either be Maccies in Olton or Maccies at M42 Junc 4

mines easy, out the back of sutton on to the A5 and keep going. and oh yeah via maccies aswell i think.

Cant remember who said they lived in lichfield and erdington but if you want to/need to follow me then i can be at tamworth mc Donalds just off the A5 at maybe 8 just before.

Im just looking at where we start and trying to identify some lanes on the old O/S map.

yeah the one your coming in, looks mint. what are the buggy type ones? never seen one before looks like a vw baja!

They are both Land Rovers

The black one was a V8 on a range rover chassis

The white one which is almost finished is based on a 300tdi disco. 2XWinches, 2XAxle lockers, stands @7ft10" high in total, sills are @28inches off the floor

The one I'm coming in is a 300tdi disco, no fancy bits but all the mechanicals were rebuilt @2months ago - full strip down, axles off, engine out etc etc

There is the Copper Kettle cafe about a mile towards Atherstone. Not sure what time it opens though.

We can change the meeting place to there if you all prefer?

No, the pub car park sounds fine with me. i guess we need to find out who is in the early posse anyway, until everyone else reads this we wont know.

Matt - which council do the lanes were going to do come under? just so i can have a look at the website.

Matt

Hinckley & Bosworth and North West Leicestershire.

The lanes we'll be doing have been checked on Trailwise but not directly with the councils.
As far as I am aware there are no TRO's for the lanes we are doing. The TRO'd lanes have been removed off my route.

Me and alex will both be in the early group...happy with the first location but will meet elsewhere if needed..

Just noticed this thread is live again, if you have room for one more id love to tag along,
Fesuvious I could meet you in solihull on route to meriden if you like,
Ive got to replace a rear shock which snapped off last week and If work goes to plan on Sat im good for an early start on sunday.

Chris

Ok, well, presuming a trundle down the M42, how bout a maccies meet (Junc 4) at 7:40>7:55?

Allow 30 mins to get to the main meet point at 08:30 and that should give enough time for the caffiene to kick in

all being well if my new hose comes this week and i can get the interior fitted back in I'll be along also. If not due to the numbers wanting to go it looks like we'd have enough for 2 groups on a future weekend or even a nice big convoy to a pay n play day :)

this is my toy :) this picture isn't current because i've painted it nato green with a black roof :)

Can't see a problem with two groups as long as we've got enough chicken boxes.

Would look brilliant all rocking up to the services.

There'll be plenty of pictures.

my only concern is water crossings, are we likely to come across any that are reasonably deep as I haven't got a cut out switch for the electric fan and no snorkel fitted at the moment :-(
