Question....

As a relative newbie, and never having 'done' an exercise of this nature previously, exactly what sort of surfaces are you planning to drive on?

...and will my Freelander cope?

... and can I come to play too?

:)

Hi there i did these lanes around twycross about 3 weeks ago in standard

You'll be fine. ;)

We will only be doing a few lanes so nothing too strenuous. :)

Ill be leaving sutton about 17:15 if you want to follow me?

Sounds like a plan. BGB where to meet up? Car park of the White Swan, Minworth?

Where is the white swan? i know the hare and hounds and the boat!

Thats not the way id usually go to be honest because i live right in the centre of sutton id go out via bassets pole, mile oak, a5, m42.

I can meet you there though, not sure where it is though lol :)

Where is the white swan? :)

You know ASDA at Minworth?

The White Swan is on the road from ASDA passed the Severn Water Treatment plant, going out to Dunton Island, where I would join the M42 north.

So if you're coming past The Belfry towards Coleshill, you'd arrive at Dunton Island and turn left to get on the M42, ... before you get to the Island there's a lay-by as you approach the M42, if you want I could meet you there.

Will I need anything special or will you guys laugh and tow me out if I get stuck? Do I need to tape the doors on?...

Got one ... being a member here has developed it!!

You wont get stuck and yes we'll laugh anyway. Not sure about the doors staying on but we do have zip ties and tape.

Just relax and enjoy yourself. You'll wonder what you were worrying about afterwards, but i'll wager you'll get the bug.

Ah on the left just where it turns briefly into dual carriage way?

Sounds good to me, or the white swan if i have the above correct.

Nothing special. you wont need towing out i promise. :D Dont worry about the doors until we get the ford. We will tackle that when we get there.

Whoops! forgot about that one at the dual carriageway -no - carry on a bit towards the M42, and the Dual carriageway becomes single again, slight left bend then straighten out again, you pass the rugby club playing field on your right, a new hand car wash, and almost immediately on the left as the road dips into the crossroads, is the White Swan car park.

However, I may have a problem afterall. It's my wifes 60th this friday and I am putting a patio for her ('cause that's what she asked for) and she's literally told me in the last 10 mins, she's arranged for Jewsons to deliver the hardcore, sand, cement, slabs etc tomorrow afternoon.... and it can't stay out the front of the house, so guess who's gotta shift it all before it gets dark? - Crap!!

BGB, can you PM (private message) me a phone number I can call you on if I can't make it so I can ring you by 5pm latest. Thanks chap.

All the stick I get, yet it's a good job I didn't buy the Skoda Yeti I was looking at when the Freelander came up, innit?

So just to be clear, what pub we meeting at, and do we have an address? And also what time will you guys be ther if we (me and 110w) just come straight to the pub?
