If it’s blocking your way report it in the relevant council ROW sites.they would get this removed. Do not go around

I have contacted West Berkshire ROW about a byway that has a fence and post blocking the entrance. It's been this way for good couple of years now. The council and police are aware and in conversation with land owner in regards to the best way forward. I suggested they enforced the law and tell him to remove said obstacles or face a bill to remove them, got no reply
That's presuming it's not a restricted byway.

I have complained about signs which say restricted but map shows as a BOAT.
And others which are BOAT that only have Motobike access

It's well known for being out of date these days, it's missing UCRs and it just shows where the byways are and not if they're closed or have any restrictions on them. As noted, just because it's a byway doesn't mean it's legally driveable.
If you want accurate either join the Green Lane Association and get access to Trailwise, or check the RoW map on the relevant council's website for whatever area you're going to.
