How do you put swivil greace in swivil balls, ive just done one side by pulling the greace seal of the back, but cant realy do the other that way as it will ruin the gascet. Is there a filler plug or somthing?

Cheers, Rich.

rear of the swivel housing if i remember correctly, buster will be able too tell you for sure tho

Thanks, last thing i tryed as a greace filler plug, turned out to ajust the stearing stop. It was dark...

After i posted it i did think to myself.... ****! How the **** are you going to put stuff in from the bottom :p

Are you being serious?

There is a 11mm square bung. Looking from the front of your vehicle the bung is 3/4 the way up the swivel housing just inside the wheel facing forwards at an angle. Its easier if you turn your wheels on full lock to find it its not that hard to FFS! Jai

Hi Woods767
If im not mistaken your supposed to fill with gearoil, i use a mix of oil and grease, oil in by can obviously, and to get the grease in!!!
Drill a hole through the centre of filler hole bung,
Thread it and screw in a grease nipple, eeeeeeasy, Hope this helps.

ermmmmm yea ok   :D

On an allied but, hopefully, more sensible side.......
Once filled with oneshot - how can you tell?
I have one swivel leaking slightly, but am not sure if the previous owner used oil or oneshot. Plus - if Oneshot has been used before, and the fill packs are enuf for a complete load, how do yu tell if yu have put enuf in. I assume yu cannot drain Oneshot, like you can oil.

you cant drain it, unless you've gto a few days to leave it standing.

You gotta take it apart really, thats the only way to check. At which point you should probably renew the grease :)

If you remove one of the bungs and carefully insert a length of wire, if it comes out with a thick black grease on it then its been done. If not, then its probably dry.

Not a problem.

It has to be said though...
My 90's swivels had taken a hell of a beating, one side has had watery oil in it for a LONG time, the other had no oil for around 6 months of daily use, neither side appeared to be worse for wear. Ive gorra disco axle on it now though. :)
