Cam shaft looks in good condition.

There seems to be some sort of coolant leak around the inlet; what should I look for to see if I should replace the whole flange?

Garage suggested replacing what I think they said was the chain tensioner; but from what ive looked up the thing they showed me was just the tensioner bolt, so I'm a little confused on that.

Any other suggestions?

I think you'll find there is a core plug somewhere under the manifold, but then I could be wrong.
See this thread esp, second post.

Did you intend to include a link?

Did you sort out that problem with the stud and the stud hole with the snapped off doodaa in the hole?

The head is over with a guy who specialises in refurbishing heads. Assures me he can get it all spick & span for me again.

The chain tensioner does look a bit like a bolt.

The garage probably meant the timing chain guides which are nylon and prone to breaking. I would also check the screw in core plug behind the exhaust manifold if you've took the manifold off as this is also prone to leaking. It is actually a screw in plug with sealant on it that dries up then leaks. The default repair appear to be to put a new plug in which comes pre-coated in the sealant but I just unscrewed mine and wrapped PTFE round the threads and screwed it back in.
