Seem to have reasonable reviews. You'd be as well to install a second battery and split charging system - that's some hefty current draw!

For that money i wouldn,t bother... It depends how much your going to use it. Remember it will be fitted year round and the extra weight means extra fuel required.

If you really want a winch go for a Tirfor hand winch . These are very simple and are bullit proof. It will pull 5 ton and lift 3 ton if used correctly.

i have used these for 15 years in ma current job and the allways deliver. allthough you,ll end up wea arms like garth! Plus when it isn,t required put in the garage/shed safely.

I,ve never had the rope on these snap either as the SWL is much higher than the thing yur looking at on fleabay!

Round the rear link arms is a favorite or round the axle! Seen many front bumpers ripped off Wolfs as folk think the tow pin in the centre is load tested. 4 bolts aint going to stand large stress'es.....with the bigger vehicles i work wea folk are still as stupid but the potential for catastrophic damage increase's!:(
 
I'm guessing you're REME or similar? Our kid was at Catterick with 19 Mech Bde for a long time. And down here, some old friends have asked me to go back to play as they are getting some RWMIK's. Sounds fun........
 
If your speedo is saying 60!? shouldnt that mean your actual speed is about 65?! defenders were never made to do those speeds...
last i checked my speedo always shows me doing 5mph under what im actually doing as for big wheels, tyres etc..

Speedos usually under read by around 3 mph, unless you have larger than standard wheels:)
 
i run 235/85's but i checked it with various sat navs over the past and it's always been between 3-5mph under. varied from different speeds. a friend of mine had a defender and his was the same.
always very cautious through speed cameras

Aye yu guessed right, i,m reme and i spend ma life in the mud sorting out peoples dramas.......landy being the smallest toy in the box!:D
