Picked up my first Defender today. Very excited! :)

Everything seems good apart from like a complete idiot I didn't check all the locks. The drivers door is fine but the passenger door and rear door won't lock with the key :(. They lock from the inside at least. Guess I'm going to have to fit some new barrels and take it as a lesson learned - check everything before driving away.

That aside, I love it! I've been driving around with a great big smile on my face :D

Nice one mate.
Before you go changing the locks, just have a look inside the door panel or even remove the plastic around the inner door button, then try again. Sometimes its just the latch not set up right.

No problem - I've just had to drill the rear door lock barrel out of mine because none of the large number of keys my Defender came with would open it. It's an insanely good feeling though, once you've got it sorted.

I might be new to this forum, but I am pretty sure that a universal forum rule is: Pictures or it didn't happen!

Congrats though

Good news - it absolutely poured down with rain here last night and no obvious leaks this morning!

Heh, my old series had the opposite problem .. any of the (about feckin' 12) keys it came with could open any of the locks!! In the end I never bothered locking it.

Ignition was the same!!!!

Very nice, right colours too ..

It's the not-obvious leaks that'll get you then ... ;)

very nice mate, good advice aswell, im picking mine up in a few hours, must remember a good look around it again before buying.

Yeah, definitely do a methodical check of everything before driving it away. I felt like such a mumpty when I got home and realised I had to lock the back door from the inside and crawl through to get out.
