only 2 days ago I had my car serviced (by a friend, not by land rover) with all the filters changed and within about 30 miles I had the restricted performance light come on and he has diagnosed fault code P006A.

it seems to come on after about 3 miles after driving and it has been diagnosed as fault code P006A
on of the mass air flow metres has now been replaced and the map sensor was not very dirty but cleaned anyway, local land rover dealers cannot book be in for at least 4 weeks and I am a bit stuck, was about to buy a map sensor but didn't want to just thro things at it especially as it looked in reasonable condition.

Also I cant help thinking that it is a bit coincidental that it was fine before service.

any suggestions would be appreciated

No direct experience with discovery, but check that all the air intake hoses are in good order and correctly secured, if you have some air flow into the engine not metered by the air flow sensor it may throw a fault code

The code you’ve got relates to the map sensor readings, which in turn could be related to the egr valves, you could do with a look at the live data to see what isn’t working. What diagnostics tool did you read the fault with?

Thanks for making contact, apart from brake fluid and oil we changed fuel filter , oil filter , pollen filter ,air filter and set oil level.

Thank you, I would have to find out the exact model type but it was a snap on diagnostics pad.

Hi

Plus 1 what’s been mentioned ref live data , that will be ur first port of call, clear the fault codes and see what comes back up, then can read the live data

That code also covers a cracked inlet manifold / or sticking turbo solenoid valve

Also make sure no hoses have been left off , recheck MAP sensor is plugged in properly

Assume a screwdriver etc wasn’t poked down the end of the MAP sensor

Is urs the 8 x speed model with adblue

Plse let us know how u get on

Thank you for your help, it is the 8 speed and I will let you know how I get on.

Anything but simple I have the same problem ! Ive changed the sensor on Bank 1 and swapped it around a few times ,Still I keep getting the restricted power thing, Incidentally this clears itself after awhile if I leave the car!. Ive pumped smoke down the ports and still cannot see any leak! The car is running fine when the code not there . it don't blow smoke so Im at a loss with this thing

Haven’t had much luck but I Just had a thought- I think it’s the battery I changed it recently . It’s an optima blue top. Is this a possibility
