That's the route I'd take. A working TD4 engine can be had for a couple of hundred quid. It's not worth spending hundreds, trying to repair a damaged head, when a good replacement can be had for so little.
I know a man that can do the job in place but he lives in Carlisle look up extract engineering he can come to you but charges £75 to remove it and £35 per hour travel
You need to open that file with something like "Virtual CloneDrive" (that's what I use) - the contents then become a drive letter on your PC (like a CD) and you can run the 'rave.exe' program which is a front end to a series of PDFs.
Only works on Windows - not on Mac/Linux (unless you can run in some Windows compatibility mode).
