Sounds like you've got a rather pessimistic fuel gauge considering the petrol holds 100 litres and the diesel 90 - refills cost me around £100 from the orange light.

and how many miles do you get out of that?

Average 215-230 or so, in the L322...about 15mpg

This is why I always quote in pence/mile when people ask me how much it costs to run the L322.....about 20-22p a mile....which is a tad less than I was doing in my 2.5DSE (25-26p a mile), and is the same as the Defender (200Tdi) that rocks on to about 25-26mpg on diesel!

It's about Smiles per gallon

That sounds about right
my old cortina 1500cc will get 8mpg when trying but boy was it fun:D
looks like the cars comeing out of retirement son`s just anounced he wants it as his school prom car end of june so ive got to get cracking, then fun time begins:D

well the orange light was on i didnt hit the fuel pump shut off but the gauge said full lol good enuff for me

That's because when the gauge says its full you can get another 3 gallon in there! Makes you think your doing really well if you've filled it to the cut of when you've done 60 miles and its barely moved of the stop, do the next 20 and its like a fat chap lent on the needle!
