I bought 2 P38a Rovers cheap in rough shape for the OR Gambler 500. I have several plans and unclear goals for the final beast. I'm leaning into cleaning the one up right and using the other for some ridiculous project, like a turbo 1UZ powered 4-door short box pickup.

A 1996 (Rioja) and a 1998 (Woodcote). Nothing particularly special about either.

Swapped the motor and trans from green to red due to fairly extensive rodent damage.

Then replaced the head gaskets after overheating issues and blowing one. The associated head had several really loose bolts near the failure point when I removed it, and all the gaskets from top to head looked nearly brand new. I kinda think someone did the job poorly before I re-did it. I've pushed about 3000 miles on it since and at least 500 of those were abusive off-road driving. I've also used it as a regular tow vehicle and it stands up great.

Well, I did this yesterday, so now I'm thinking about chopping the back and doing a pickup conversion. I'm also kinda partial to scrapping one of these out.
