Evening.

i have just bought a 2008 tdci 110 and have a couple of issues

on a long run when it gets nice and warm i have noticed when changing up gears, when lifting up the clutch there is a clonk when it takes up drive again also when coming to a stop and depressing the clutch (coasting) there is a shudder just before stopping ???

Any ideas and are these related?

I had a simular issue with the shudder on my 1985 90 and found the hand brake too tight

Thanks

Clonk could be loose/playing propshaft - I had a similar thing on my 110. Although mines a 1994 300tdi so might not be relevant.

Check,
A-frame balljoint,
Prop shaft ujs,
Handbrake binding when expands like u mentioned
Play in the diffs
Input outout shafts..
All these have been covered if you botherd to do a search.

Thanks for the help

And as for searching I have spent since 4 pm trolling on the net and its a complete mine field when it comes to pumas and their issues, so I took too asking

Your best method be as followed.
Chock wheels, take handbrake off and outa gear. See how much rotation is in the prop shaft, see how much play is in the prop up&down side to side etc then you'll see if its the ujs or the diff thats got the play. To ensure its the diff and not transfer box just unbolt the props and see what movement is in the output at the diff and transfer box ends!

Aframe ball joint, get a large bar and try and gain movement on the joint youll soon see if it's shagged or not with the amount of movement.

I'm not familiar with puma handbrakes so can't help much there! Not sure if its different! but I'd of thaught after a long drive it could be binding slightly causing backlash if not adusted up!

Await further help from members!
