i took map sensor out it was so cacked up with carbon i couldnt see through it. i socked it in that moly stuff for cleaning mass sensors and gently cleaned it what a difference when i road tested it , i think it was first time cleaning since new 2007

egr is stuck shut and wire is connected to new one cable tied up its been like that for a couple of years and ran well
I would expect that when the ECU thinks the EGR is open, it will fuel accordingly (and incorrectly) because the one attached to the inlet is stuck shut. That could be the root of your issue.

well i thnk its stuck shut but it made a big difference two years ago when i did it ,it was awfull before wouldnt pull a greasy bloke out of bed its ran good since and better fuel consumption its only when we got a cold snapp a week or so ago it started playing up i think water. in filter i fitted a new filter and was ok for a day or so then started to play up in the morning my mechanic who works on the farm thinks its a sensor , i cleaned map sensor and its not too bad now till it gets warm i think i get a new one as it was in a shocking state hard with carbon i soaked it in mass cleaning fluid but couldent shift all of it i dont think its ever been cleaned since new not by me any way ive had it since 2007 three months old when i bought it ,thanks for all your help though much appreciated
 
I think you have tricked the ECU into thinking the EGR is operating correctly. As such it will be fuelling to suit what the ECU thinks it is doing. In the long term this will cause the sort of problems you are having. One of the causes of cutting out is a faulty EGR. And possibly, your catalytic converter has got choked up as a consequence. If it was mine I'd be fixing the EGR valve.

isnt having the egr blanked off the same as having it stuck shut
 
I believe you need to do a re-map as well. No experience of this myself. If your MAP sensor was well and truly gunked up. your valve might not be stuck fully shut? how would you know?
i dont know but it has pulled so well since i dissconected it and still does ill change map tomorrow and see what happens i will have look up manifold too see if its clear it all started with the cold snap but its been warm since ,no doupt we not finnished with cold yet this year so time will tell ,every days a school day 🀣🀣
 
Just to clarify - by re-map I mean modify the programme in the ECU (as part of blanking the EGR valve), not change the MAP sensor.
understand what you meant ,today i had a go at it ,i r,emoved map sensor and cleaned out hole, removed air inlet pipe that goes up to map sensor and a bit of debris but fairly clean in there i fitted new map sensor and tested vehicle we nt inti limp mode so i cleared the five faults that was showing map sensor and turbo related and so far all is well again now i must wait for cold weather to see 🀞also i topped up header tank with coolant is was fairly low but i dont think that wouls cause the problems i was having thanks for all your help maybe i can assist you one day ,two heads are better than one πŸ‘
