There is a strong chance your pump is faulty then.

funny mine is a pig too start under 1/4 of a tank. 2.5DSe
soon as you fill up it starts fine


guess my tank will need doing soon then

my 4,6hse pumps fuel out if i connect battery to it out of the disconnected fuel pipe for a few seconds
