I have bought the repair kit from eBay as well as the gasket and o ring from a Landy dealer. Just wanted to know if anyone else had done theirs this way, any tips or is it a straight forward job? Planning on doing it tomorrow as my leak is bad!

Thanks
Chris

Yeh chris

Uncle Swampey says

Man with fat hands, cow of job, many scrapped knuckles, might save on cost, Y very angry at end of day...

Man with wad in pocket pays man to do...lol

PS how do you know the FPR part isnt FUBAR

Don't know till I take it off, if it is I lost a tenner and the use of the car for a day while I get a new one. It's worth a punt!

Ok all went well, except when fitting the new gasket. It is different to the one that came off. I will upload pics later. Diesel is peeing out the bottom of the valve now. Must be the gasket! My Disco 2 is a 2000 X reg!

Fuel pressure regulator is now sorted, if you have a leaky one, get the oring kit off eBay, works a treat and saves you a fortune!!

Well done mate.

This is good to know, as this " repair " kit hasnt been around long, and it is widely accepted that the only problem with the TD5,s FPR is the failing "O" rings inside it.

Del.

Looks like I spoke too soon, leak is exactly the same as before. WTF, replaced both o rings and the fuel filter o ring and a new gasket. Still drip drip drip!!! Anyone any ideas???

I did two weeks ago ago a repair like that but i used NBR 70 SH O-RING 2,5 MM 5.0 and NBR 70 SH O-RING 2,5 MM from a dealer of Bevestigingsmaterialen, bouten en moeren | Fabory online it still doesnt leak. I think the orings from the ebay kit dont have these properties O-Ring.info » Products » By compound » Nitrile / NBR and they might give in in contact with diesel

Yes it is leaking from the exact same place which is where the O Rings were fitted! What a bitch!

Are you sure you fitted all the rings in the kit ? The large one for the regulator, a small "chunky" one for the tip of the regulator, three for the pipe unions (although I can only see two on the car) and the dealer one for the filter. I say this because you say you fitted two only plus the filter one.

Hi All,

I'm the chap who's selling the o-rings on eBay and the o-rings are all made of Vitton Rubber (V75) which is (obviously) diesel resistant. I'd imagine that Chris's problem is not actually o-ring related, but more likely a crack/split somewhere within the FPR housing. I could, of course be wrong, but his issues with these o-rings are the first I've had in approx 30-odd kits sold!

Alex.

If his vehicle is pre-EU03/15P engined then he'll only need two of the three smaller o-rings (as they go on the two, or three pipes).
