wonder if anyone can help me, I have a td4 02 freelander which has low fuel pressure when analized, fitted new fuel pump and filter runs smooth on tick over up to 2000 revs then engine management kicks in then I get lack of power and smoking, switch off and start again and it does the same again at 2000 revs! I am lost any help will be much appreciated. Also do you have to bleed them and if so how!? thanks phil

I changed the fuel pressure reg and harness before the fuel pump bud. Before that when was the fuel filter last changed?

Dont know only had it a week and it went wrong! which parts are you talking about and where are they on the engine?

I had a similar problem it was the diaphragm in the sender unit in the tank that had collapsed.
Took the garage ages to find that fault

Ive just been reading through the forms and Ive replaced the fuel filter and pump in offside rear wheel arch is there another pump in the tank on this model? As I keep reading about 2 pumps being mentioned, can anybody tell me. cheers phii. ps the new one i fitted is buzzing very loudly is that normal?

If you have a pump and filter under the wheel arch then no. The only other pump is the high pressure pump but they seldom fail (as far as I understand).

People also post about changing the fuel rail sensor and / or harness (don't exactly recall) to cure this problem.
